Porsche Does It Again With Its New Cayman S Sports Car

Based from the Porsche’s Boxster model series, the Porsche Cayman S is the new Sports coupe of the series.  This model ranks between the Boxster S and the 911 Carrera because of its features and overall builds to the vehicle.  It is also positioned and priced between the two models.

Although it is easily recognizable as a Porsche sports car, the Cayman S certainly has its own distinctive look.  Some of the features that stand out with this vehicle are its dynamic new coupe silhouette, aerodynamic upper windshield sill, curved rear fenders, fog lamps that are integrated into the front air intakes and newly styled dual sport tailpipes.

In addition, the asymmetric headlights are moved far outside and are accentuated by large air intakes at the side.  This helps accommodate the fog lamps and position lights that are integrated in slender trim bars.  The rear lights and the exhaust tailpipes in the middle of the car help link the Cayman S even more to the 911 Carrera and Boxster S.

The Cayman S is propelled by a powerful 3.4-liter flat-six cylinder engine that pushes the car from 0-60 in 5.1 seconds.  The overall speed of the car tops out at an impressive 171 mph.  The similarities to the Carrera are found in the engine as well, as it is equipped with the same VarioCam Plus variable valve timing system that is found on the 2005 911 Carrera.

The similarities to the Boxster S arise in the way the engine is powered, as it is transmitted through the standard six-speed manual transmission the Boxster S uses.  However, it has been enhanced with shortened and more precise shift travel.

The Cayman S has extremely reliable brakes with the cross-drilled, inner-vented brake discs that measure 12.5’ in diameter at the front and 11.8’ at the rear.  There are also 6 supreme airbags that offer all-around protection to drivers of the Cayman S.

One of the unique features the Cayman S has to offer is the extra-large tailgate integrated into the rear end of the car.  The tailgate offers an abundant amount of space for luggage and traveling items in the rear, unlike many sports vehicles on the market.

Between the numerous similarities with the 911 Carrera and Boxster S and several distinctive features of its own, the Porsche Cayman S is an incredible new model within the Porsche lineup.  Its powerful engine gives you the muscle you need in a sports car and the reliable brakes and supreme airbags put you at ease.  Overall, the Cayman S is one of the top sports cars on the market.
